Step 2—Assuming you want to just find and book a hotel, make sure the “Find a Hotel” tab is checked on the blue search box.

Step 3—Choose how you’d like to search from the three options—by city, an airport or a specific address.

Selecting to search by city is best for most people, unless you specifically want to find a hotel very near an airport or a specific attraction. This will give you the widest range of options, organized by how centrally located each hotel is.

Step 4—Begin to type in the name of the city, and the state should auto-select. If you are traveling to a “Top Destination” you can also select one of the cities from the drop-down menu.

Step 5—Choose how big of radius from your search destination you’d like to search for hotels.

Step 6—Enter in the dates you’d like to check-in and check-out of your hotel and whether you’d like to search just Hilton Hotels or all Hilton Family Hotels.

Step 7—Click “Find it” and a moment later you will get a page with your search results.

How to sort your results to get the best hotel for your needs

There are several ways to sort your results to make finding the right Hilton hotel super easy.

1. On the right-hand side of the screen, you will see a grey box that allows you to refine/change your search. You can re-specify the distance you’d like to search as well as choose a specific brand of hotel (like Doubletree or Hampton Hotels)
2. You can also choose to compare up to 4 hotels side by side.

Comparing Hotels

Another helpful tool to refine your search results is the “Compare Selected Hotels” button at the top of the search results screen.

Step 1—Check the boxes “compare hotel” next to the hotel listings and then press “compare selected hotels.”

Step 2—You will be given a new screen listing the hotels and their locations, prices and various amenities side-by side. You will also see distances from the airport and cost for airport transportation as well as brief explanation of the hotel’s location in the city you have chosen.

View hotels on a map

If you’d rather see the hotels on a map, you can click on the “View hotel on a map” link at the top of the search results page. You’ll be able to see all the listed hotels plotted on a map of the area you are searching. This can be extremely helpful if you want to be certain your hotel is close to a beach, landmark, or city center. After the first map is displayed, you can change the search criteria to narrow or refine your results.

How to choose from the list to find the best hotel for the lowest price

Unlike hotel booking sites like Expedia or hotels.com, the Hilton web site is only for booking Hilton hotels, which narrows your search options considerably to begin with. Since those using this site will most likely be looking specifically for a Hilton hotel in a certain price range, the most important thing to pay attention to before booking your hotel is the location and amenities (do you need a pool).
