Aspen

There are plenty of excellent skiing destinations one can visit in Colorado, but one of the most well-known is the town of Aspen. The town itself is charming and picturesque at any time of year, but the vast majority of its visitors arrive when the snow hits the mountains to take advantage of some of the best skiing in the area. No matter when you decide to visit, you will be awed by the natural beauty of the area – and potentially agape at the cost of a trip to this pretty town. There are, however, cheap hotels in Aspen when will save you loads.

Like any good ski resort, Aspen boasts lots of things to do in both winter and summer – so while the tourist influx is greatest in the winter, a summer trip to Aspen is just as enjoyable and the town is certainly not lacking for visitors during warm weather. With the great hiking and mountain biking to white water rafting and even golf, summer is a great time to visit. But snow lovers will relish the four ski areas that are close by, including Snowmass and Highlands, all of which are within easy reach of the cheap hotels in Aspen.

Aspen does have a reputation for being expensive as both a place to live and a place to spend your vacation. And you could, if you wanted to, drop quite a bit of money on a hotel. It is, after all, home to many well-to-do skiers. But not everyone who enjoys the skiing in Aspen is rich – far from it. Although you will find infinitely more cheap hotels in Aspen if you avoid the winter, that does not help with ski vacations! To get the best rates on winter hotels, go during the week (instead of the weekend) and look for package deals that include flights, hotels, and lift tickets – and sometimes even rental cars.

Some of the cheap hotels in Aspen worth checking out are Molly Gibson Lodge (3 blocks from downtown, 53 rooms, WiFi and internet access available, outdoor heated pool, 3 hot tubs, free continental breakfast, in-room DVD players, parking available), Hotel Aspen (on Main Street downtown, 45 rooms, outdoor heated pool, free continental breakfast, parking available, some rooms with private terrace & jacuzzi, in-room DVD players, WiFi & internet access available), Aspen Mountain Lodge (4 blocks from downtown, 38 rooms, high-speed internet access throughout hotel, free continental breakfast available, free ski shuttle), Tyrolean Lodge (on Main Street downtown, 16 rooms, all rooms with kitchenettes, free WiFi, family run for 35 years, free shuttles to all ski resorts in winter), and St. Moritz Lodge & Condominiums (2 blocks from public transportation, part private condos & part hostel, free continental breakfast in winter & summer, outdoor heated pool, free internet access, guest laundry, comfortable guest lounge).
