San Francisco

San Francisco is a fantastic place for a holiday getaway – there is so much to see and do, and even more sights within a few miles outside the city itself. You will no doubt get your workout in during your vacation, though, with all those steep hills to climb! And unfortunately it can be an expensive city to visit, giving your wallet a workout, too. This is one reason it is so important to find a cheap hotel in San Francisco for your trip.

There are lots of diverse and varied neighborhoods within San Francisco, and most of them will have at least a few budget accommodation options in them. But some of these areas, while interesting to visit, may not be where you want to sleep. It is important, therefore, to know a bit more about the city before you choose your cheap hotel in San Francisco.

Be aware, for instance, that Fisherman’s Wharf – the city’s most popular tourist destination – can be pretty noisy well into the night. Light sleepers might not like a hotel in this area. If you do want to be near here, however, the San Remo Hotel is a few blocks from the main tourist area and offers decent rates.

In the famous Haight-Ashbury area, the Metro Hotel‘s rooms are nothing spectacular, but the prices are good – especially for the city center. San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood is home to the city’s Little Italy, as well as these two charming boutique hotels – the Hotel Boheme and the Washington Square Inn B&B.
