Berlin is a big city, and one of those cities that has several what you could consider “city centers.” Because of this, there are several parts of the city in which you can find cheap hotels in Berlin. The important thing to know when you book your hotel is that it is close to some kind of public transportation – because you will need it to get everywhere you want to go.

The main areas of the city where you will find cheap hotels in Berlin include what is called the Berlin-Mitte and areas in the former East Berlin. Really, much of present-day Berlin was once part of East Berlin, considering so little of the city was actually in the West.
