Salt Lake City

The capital city of Utah, Salt Lake City is best known as the center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and as a lovely destination for those who enjoy skiing. During summer, the mountains are perfect for camping, hiking and rock climbing. Despite being such a popular travel destination, it is very easy to find cheap hotels in Salt Lake City.

Most of the visitors who want to explore the city will spend their time right in the heart of Downtown. That’s where the Temple Square is located, Utah’s most visited location. Just south of the square, there’s the Church History Museum which highlights the history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Finding cheap hotels in Salt Lake City is easy even if you plan to stay close to Downtown. The younger crowds might enjoy more the Sugar House neighborhood, filled with interesting shops. And if you don’t like the mountains, you can check out the lake.

During the winter, all the hype is around the ski resorts. Since all of them are located close to Downtown (20-40 min by bus) you can skip staying in the more expensive resorts and opt for a cheaper option within the city. There are plenty of cheap accommodations in the city, ranging from inns or motels to 2-3 star hotels. Most of the cheap hotels in Salt Lake City are to be found close to the airport though.

Some of the budget options in Salt Lake City worth looking into are: Ramada Limited Salt Lake City (near the airport, close to 14 ski resorts, close to Downtown, free wi-fi, indoor pool, pet friendly) , Sleep Inn Salt Lake City (73 rooms, close to Downtown, pet friendly) and Best Western Executive Inn (part of the Best Western network, located at 8 miles from Downtown, close to ski resorts).
