Dallas

Dallas is one of the biggest cities in Texas, but is not just a place where lots of Texans live – it is also a city that is popular with vacationers. To some, the city might still be synonymous with the old TV show, but the reality of present-day Dallas is quite different. Although, in truth, you will still see lots of glitter, big hair, and make-up – that is one thing that has not really changed much! To get a look at the city up close and personal without breaking the bank, be sure to check out the cheap hotels in Dallas for your trip.

There is quite a bit of money in this city, so the cheap hotels in Dallas may not be as plentiful as you would expect in a city of this size – but they do exist. But unfortunately, even if you can find a budget bed in downtown Dallas you may still end up needing a rental car to get around and see the sights in the city. Yes, there are buses and trams which cross-cross the city, but they are primarily designed for the locals to get to and from work – not for tourists to get to and from the area attractions.

There are a few nice museums in Dallas which may be worth a visit, including the city’s Museum of Art and the so-called Sixth Floor Museum which is in the building from which Lee Harvey Oswald is said to have fired the shot which killed President John F. Kennedy, but many visitors never set foot in the city’s museums. There are enough famous sports teams in Dallas that you could make an entire trip focused on sports! There is also some good golfing to be done in the area, and a couple of amusement parks which are fun for the whole family.

Some of the cheap hotels in Dallas you should look into when you are planning your trip are Hyatt Place Dallas/Park Central (in North Dallas, near downtown, free shuttle to destinations within 5-mile radius of hotel, free WiFi access, free continental breakfast, fitness center, outdoor pool, free parking), DoubleTree Hotel Dallas-Campbell Centre (in North Dallas, near DART rail station, 300 rooms, internet access available, free shuttle to a few area destinations, fitness center, on-site restaurant, free parking, laundry service available), Crowne Plaza Suites Dallas-Park Central (in the North Dallas business district, 5 minutes from Galleria Mall, 20 minute drive from downtown, 295 rooms, all rooms are suites, WiFi access available, free guest parking, indoor & outdoor pools, fitness center, whirlpool hot tub, laundry service available), Fairfield Inn Dallas Park Central (near the Galleria Mall, 83 rooms, free continental breakfast, fitness center, laundry service available, free WiFi & internet access, free parking), and Hotel Lawrence Dallas (historic boutique hotel in downtown Dallas near business district, near Sixth Floor Museum, 118 rooms, WiFi & internet access available, free transportation within 3-mile radius of hotel, fitness center, milk & cookies in the lobby every night, on-site restaurant).
