Philadelphia

Philadelphia is the city of love, and the historic center is a must-see for any lover of American history. Beyond that, however, there is plenty to appeal to modern Philly enthusiasts, too. This is a big city, and there are plenty of cheap hotels in Philadelphia, but you just want to make sure that the one you choose is either close to the main things you want to see and do or that it is close to public transportation to get you around the city easily.

Central Philadelphia, with the historic old city, is where most visitors will spend the majority of their time – and with sights like Independence and Constitution Halls and the Liberty Bell, not to mention LOVE Park and the Philadelphia City Hall, it is easy to see why. But finding cheap hotels in Philadelphia‘s old city sometimes proves to be a challenge, especially during the busy tourist seasons when all hotels tend to get full. Once you find a budget hotel in a good location, your best bet is to snap it up quickly.

Aside from the sights in the historic center, other popular attractions in Philadelphia include the famous Art Museum (equally well-known for what is inside as for Rocky’s run up its front steps), the University of Pennsylvania and Temple University. The city is also a great destination for anyone who likes shopping or fine dining, as there are countless great restaurants and fun shops to be found in almost every part of Philadelphia. Thankfully, much of the city is easily walkable – and for the rest of the neighborhoods there is good public transportation.

Some cheap hotels in Philadelphia worth looking into are Best Western Independence Park Inn (in historic old city, 36 rooms, WiFi access, breakfast included), Comfort Inn Downtown (in historic old city, free transportation provided to area attractions, breakfast included, free internet access), Hilton Garden Inn (next to convention center, free high-speed internet access, laundry facilities, on-site restaurant), Crowne Plaza Philadelphia Center City (located downtown, 445 rooms, free internet access, on-site pub/restaurant), and Holiday Inn Historic District (located downtown, free WiFi, on-site restaurant and pub, kids eat free).
