Gold Coast

While Australia’s Gold Coast may look like one continuous city stretching along the ocean, it is actually a collection of consecutive towns that kind of all run together. The area officially starts with Surfers Paradise and the border of New South Wales, and you should be able to recognize it by the inordinately high numbers of surfers and backpackers. And with said surfers and backpackers come lots of cheap hotels on the Gold Coast, so that is good news for everyone. Oh, and the beaches are amazing, of course.

The Gold Coast is a wildly popular vacation destination for foreigners, but it is also extremely popular with Australians as well. The warmer climate and wide range of family-friendly activities and amusement parks make it an ideal spot to escape colder temperatures in other parts of the country. Places like the aptly named Surfers Paradise may seem overrun with a certain kind of traveler, but the Gold Coast is extensive – in other words, it is not all budget backpackers and students. And you do not have to suffer with dorm-style hostels, either, just because you are on a budget. There are plenty of cheap hotels on the Gold Coast, too.

Most of the cheap hotels on the Gold Coast are going to be in Surfers Paradise, because it is the main tourist town along the coast. You will find other cheap hotels in other areas, you just might not find the same kind of large selection. The town of Broadbeach – not far from Surfers Paradise – is another place to look for budget accommodation options. But no matter where you settle in, you can easily access just about any part of the Gold Coast by car. This allows you to better explore all the beaches and the different towns.

Some cheap hotels on the Gold Coast which you should check out are Islander Resort Hotel (in central Surfers Paradise, an easyHotel property, 100 simple & basic rooms, all rooms have balconies, some apartments available, on-site restaurant & bar, limited free parking, outdoor pool, tennis & squash courts, internet access available, laundry facilities), Paradise Resort (in Surfers Paradise, caters especially to families with children, separate bedrooms for the kids in the family-style rooms, 4 swimming pools, lots of activities & play areas for kids of all ages, on-site restaurant & bar, game room, climbing wall, on-site day spa), Mantra Bel Air (in Broadbeach, in the town center, not far from beach, many rooms with ocean or canal views, indoor & outdoor pools, sauna & spa, BBQ facilities for guest use), Islander Resort Hotel (in central Surfers Paradise, one block from the beach, both standard hotel rooms & one-bedroom apartments available, all rooms have private balconies, outdoor pool, spa & steam room, tennis & squash courts, dry-cleaning & laundry service, limited free covered parking, BBQ facilities for guest use, on-site restaurant, internet access available), and Chateau Beachside (in central Surfers Paradise, very close to beach, both standard hotel rooms and apartments available, outdoor pool, spa & sauna, game room, tennis court, play area for kids, on-site bar & cafe, BBQ facilities for guest use, internet access available).
