Rhode Island

Tucked between Massachusetts and Connecticut you will find the smallest of the US states: Rhode Island. Despite its small size, Rhode Island boasts 400 miles of coast line and plenty of things to do. There are 39 towns and cities in this beautiful state so choosing among cheap hotels in Rhode Island isn’t that hard.

Narragansett boasts some of the best beach in the entire New England region, while Providence is the largest city in the state and the center of the commercial activities. The kids will love the Roger Williams Park Zoo, while their moms will be excited to explore the big Providence Place Mall, with three levels of shopping and restaurants. Newport, located on Aquidneck Island, is famous for the jazz scene and the yachting community.

Choosing among the cheap hotels in Rhode Island ultimately depends on what you plan to do on your vacation. If you are heading to Providence, you should know that hotels here come with a rather hefty price tag. A good idea is to stay away from downtown and look for a cozy motel. If you plan to check out the beaches in Narragansett, you can look for some lovely motels right by the beach or for some cozy inns located little further from the beach areas.

Some of the budget options worth trying in Rhode Island include: Ocean Rose Inn (Narragansett, overlooking the bay, perfect for a romantic escape, packages available), Saunders Inn at Brown University (Providence, for affiliated guests of Brown University24 guest rooms, AC, TV, smoke-free) and Lighthouse Inn of Galilee (Galilee, 100 rooms, newly renovated, indoor pool).
