Although smaller than its infamous counterpart, the Encore Wynn Las Vegas Hotel exceeds the expectations of even the most discerning Wynn patron. Having opened in December, 2008, this $2.3 billion, 2,034 suite-only hotel quickly achieved ‘sold-out’ status, becoming the latest and greatest along the Las Vegas Strip.
This hotel; a gorgeous, modernistic work of art with a butterfly theme throughout, contains five restaurants, eleven retail shops, a relaxation spa, salon, fitness center, exquisite outdoor pool set among lush gardens and a 70,000 square foot casino. There is also 60,000 square feet of meeting and conference room space contained within.
Dining at The Encore comes in many forms and provides a variety of experiences. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, (and remaining open in Las Vegas style until 1:00 a.m. during the week and 3:00 a.m. on the weekends,) is The Society Cafe. This restaurant features American fare; comfort food and old favorites. Sinatra’s, a 152-seat, ‘dinner-only’ steakhouse, features the ever-playing music of none other than Old Blue Eyes, himself. While categorized as a steakhouse, the menu most certainly has an Italian flare and the food is already being compared to that of a Manhatten, fine-dining establishment. Wazuzu, open for lunch and dinner, offers a diverse Pan-Asian experience and the Sushi is a ‘must’ when you dine here. Switch is an over-the-top French-inspired surf and turf restaurant and Botero Steak House is already recognized as one of the top steak houses in Las Vegas; the atomosphere is mesmerizing, overlooking the outdoor pool and located next to The Encore’s nightclub, but also for it’s excellent steak, seafood, hearty portions and superb wine list. An excellent ‘wine-by-the-glass’ menu is also featured.
The Encore’s nightclub, XS, has room both inside and out, for 3,000 party goers! The club extends outside and provides gambling tables by the pool.
What would a Las Vegas hotel be without a casino? (We wouldn’t know!) The Encore’s casino has been designed to provide an intimate, ‘cozy’ gambling experience; quite different from the wide open, noisy bell-ringing of the slots and the yelling of the winners and losers at the tables of most Las Vegas casinos. This 70,000 square foot casino is divided into four quarters that are each divided into four more quarters. Each section is somewhat secluded, divided by lovely curtains. Ceilings are low and the general feel is a romantic, intimate setting. Waitresses are attentive with drinks and to date, “a good time has been had by all” at the casino in The Encore! A very special feature in the casion is a wall of ‘Wynndows’ overlooking the pool area. These ‘Wynndows’ have been specially designed so that patrons of the casino can see out to the pool area, but those guests at the pool are not able to visualize the lights coming from the casino. Imagine: a casino with a view!
Staff has been well-trained, ala Wynn style and have gotten rave reviews from former guests. Service has been one of the most highly spoken of areas; a strongly supportive reason for a return trip in the near future!
This all-suite hotel has left nothing to the imagination. Each suite is generously spacious, has a sleeping area and a living area, in addition to an enormous bathroom, complete with television, double sinks, shower and soaking tubs. The sleeping and living areas are divided by a 42 inch flat screen, swivel television. Lights, curtains and privacy door notification can be managed from bed; all are on remote control. Furniture is modern and luxourious and no expense has been spared when it comes to the comfort of beds and linens.
Entertainment at The Encore changes on occasion, but highly popular is Danny Gans, the man of many voices, treating his audience to more than 200 impressions! Le Reve is an extremely entertaining show featuring aerial acrobatic performers in an aqua-theater-in-the-round.
For the golfer, whether avid or novice, The Wynn’s Golf Course is one of a kind and must be included in your visit to Las Vegas. Guests at the Wynn and the Encore share privileges at this fabulous course and no trip would be complete without hitting a few balls on the hallowed grounds where the Rat Pack once hung out!
