Austria ski vacations

Other European ski destinations
If the “traditional” ski destinations in Austria, France and Switzerland are a bit too expensive for your pocket, then you can always choose to spend a vacation on the slopes in one of the cheaper areas, such as Greece, Bulgaria or Romania.
First though, you need to book a flight to Europe , ideally into a large hub and then choose a low cost flight or another means of transportation to get to the ski area.
Pay attention that March is still considered high season in the mountain resorts and the prices are a bit higher everywhere. But overall, the countries mentioned above are cheaper than other ski destinations. Accommodation ranges from budget to expensive, but with a bit of research you’ll be able to find something for you. If you travel with a group of friends, you can look for villas online and rent one for your vacation. That will drastically reduce the costs of accommodation and meals.
Plus, you can always add a day or two of exploring Thessaloniki on your way home. Or you can try to decipher Bucharest after a week on the slopes in Poiana Brasov.
