And, of course, Central Park is definitely a place to visit, where you just plan to relax or want to visit the Zoo.
Planning the budget
No matter how you look at it, a vacation in New York is bound to be expensive. The city is expensive and it takes quite a lot to find a cheaper place to stay and which is located in a decent area.
New York vacation packages are available and you can end up saving some money especially if they comprise show tickets or discounted admission to landmarks.
But you can also create your own package. New York City area is served by three large airports. If you come from outside the US, chances are you’ll be looking for flights into JFK . The airport is located just 12 miles from Manhattan but with the crazy traffic it might take up to an hour to get to your hotel. If you fly from another US city, chances are that you’ll find cheap flights into either LaGuardia or Newark Liberty International Airport.
And speaking of expensive vacations… New York is known for the high hotel prices. Although the economic crisis has pushed the rates slightly down, it’s still hard to find cheap hotels in New York . You can forget about Manhattan if your budget is low but you can try to other boroughs. Read the reviews carefully so that you won’t end up in a dodgy area.
