Destin is located on the Emerald Coast of Florida and has been a popular resort town for many years. Typically not a budget travel destination, Destin generally attracts high-end travelers who love to experience the beautiful beaches, open-air shopping malls and the many events which take place here year-round.
Vacation packages
High-end beach destinations become quite affordable in two cases: vacation packages and low-season traveling. Typically, all inclusive vacation packages are a very good choice as they comprise the flight, accommodation and additional services. If you plan to stay within the resort and not do much else, it’s safe to say that you won’t be spending additional money.
Alternatively, you can try the independent traveling and book the flight and accommodation separately. The closest major airport to Destin is Mobile Regional Airport in Alabama. It is located 106 miles from the center of Destin. So aside from finding a cheap flight to Alabama you also need to consider renting a car to get to Destin.
Now for the accommodation part…finding cheap hotels in Destin is quite an adventure but not an impossible one. There are affordable places to stay located quite close to the beaches and restaurants.
