Yosemite National Park is one of the most beautiful national parks in the US. It’s located in California and covers an area of 761,266 acres. The majority of tourists spend their time in Yosemite Valley, the entry point in the park and where you’ll find all the tourist activities during the season. There are plenty of places to stay in the park so finding cheap hotels in Yosemite is not that hard.

Yosemite has a Mediterranean climate, with mild wet winters and dry summers. Temperature decreases with elevation, so make sure to pack accordingly if you plan to explore the park. There are over 800 miles of hiking trails in the park, ranging from an easy day stroll to multiple days backpacking trips (which require some stamina). Another option is to rent a bike (spring to fall) and explore the paved paths in Yosemite Valley. Rock climbing is very popular as well during summer. Those who prefer the winter to visit the park can go skiing (downhill or cross country) or snowshoeing.

Accommodation in Yosemite ranges between tents, motel-style rooms and comfortable lodges. The cheapest option is always the tent but if you are looking for cheap hotels in Yosemite you should choose a lodge without too many facilities (after all, the plan is to enjoy nature, right?). Please note that some of the lodges and cam sites are open only during the summer.

Some of the budget places worth trying in Yosemite include: Curry Village (motel rooms, cabins with private bath, tent cabins, BBQ areas close by, places to eat close by), Tuolumne Meadows Lodge (open between July & September, tent cabins, no electricity, shared facilities, dining rooms) and White Wolf Lodge (open between June & September, 30 miles from Yosemite Valley, tent cabins, cabins with bath, dining rooms, grill, store).
