Tourists often think of Cornwall as a charming little town in England, but it is in fact a county in England that is full of charming little towns! It is one of the most popular regions to visit in the country, largely because of its warm climate (well, warm for England), its picturesque villages – many of which look like they have not changed for hundreds of years – and its pretty coastline. There is only one real city in the county, but there are plenty of cheap hotels in Cornwall you can choose from.

The city of Truro is the only real city in Cornwall, but the countryside is littered with pleasant villages and towns which – despite how small they might be – are likely to have some of the cheap hotels in Cornwall. Of course, cheap hotels in this part of the world are also often not called hotels but instead are B&Bs. The service is much more personal, and the accommodation may not be as streamlined as your local big-chain hotel, but the price is often quite good and you cannot beat a good English B&B.

Among the more popular sights in Cornwall – besides the charming villages and pretty coastline itself – is known as Land’s End. This is the most southwestern point of England, and while it may be rugged and picturesque, parts of it seem like nothing more than a tourist trap these days. Other attractions include the 80-acre Lost Gardens of Heligan, a Tate Gallery full of modern art in St. Ives, and the town of Penzance (yes, the one from the opera about the pirates).

A few of the cheap hotels in Cornwall you may want to look into are The Square House (in Newquay, self-catering house, B&B, on-site parking available, 2 rooms with en-suite showers, private courtyard), Minerva Hotel (family-run hotel in central Newquay, some rooms with sea views, full English breakfast included, on-site bar, free use of hotel’s surf & body boards), Pendeen Hotel (1 mile from Newquay, full English breakfast included, accommodates 28 people, across the road from a beach), Queens Hotel (in Penzance, 70 rooms, family-run hotel, free parking, free WiFi access, on-site restaurant & bar, breakfast included), and Blueseas Hotel (in Penzance, many rooms overlooking the sea, breakfast included, free WiFi access, private car parking).
