A popular beach resort town located about 8 km from Marmais in Turkey, Icmeler Bay is located on the Datcha peninsula. Surrounded by forests and mountains that drop into the blue waters below, this scenic spot has long been a favorite getaway spot for Europeans. The unique combination of azure waters and pine forests provides any visitor plenty to do—whether it be working on your tan, swimming, snorkeling, boating or hiking in the mountains, which provide fantastic views of the region from the top.

While you certainly won’t run out of things to do in Icmeler, you may trouble pronouncing the name of this town, which is pronounced each-mell-er in English. This little town was once a sleepy fishing village that has been rapidly developing in the past few decades and hotels and other tourism based businesses have been mushrooming around the beach in this once sleepy town. Icmeler is also a renowned dive spot and scuba divers come from afar to check out what lurks below the surface of the water.

Although there were not many hotels in this town just a decade ago, this quickly growing resort town as been expanding at a rapid pace in recent years and there are now many hotels near the beach. Icmeler is also seen as a quieter alternative to the much more developed and busier Marmaris, another beach resort town along the Turkish Riviera.
