The Excalibur Hotel opened it’s doors on June 19th, 1990. Upon opening, it was the largest hotel in the world. It was designed to be a very kid friendly hotel and still is to this day. It had an arcade and Merlin’s Magic Motion Machine,and a motion simulator to boot. The MGM Mirage purchased the hotel on April 26th, 2005. Over the years there have been many upgrades and changes made to the hotel.
When making your reservations, you are offered 3 different styles of rooms. The “Widescreen Rooms”, which have been recently remodeled, are rooms that offer the best views of the property and have closer access to the pool and spa. The “Guess Rooms” offer a great place to unwind and relax. These rooms have hardwood beds and chairs. The “Guest Suites” let you live like royalty and you have a spa right in your room!
On the casino floor, you will find many different games to choose from. Slots and electric games offer playing amounts from $0.01 to $100. The table games offer such games as Blackjack, Craps, Pia Gow Poker, Roulette, Big Six and Mini Baccarat. There is a full service lounge for Keno and it’s located in the Sherwood Forest Cafe and the Race and Sports book.
The Excalibur Hotel has a lot to offer when it comes to Entertainment. The Tournament of Kings is a favorite for dinner shows. Thunder from Down Under contains some of the most hunky men from Australia. Louie Anderson does a comedy show called “Larger than life”. “Defending the Caveman” is another hilarious comedy show. They also provide live music nightly for free.
You have plenty of dining options while staying at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino. They offer a buffet, which has a wide range of food to choose from. They also have a steakhouse and an Italian restaurant. The food court has a Starbuck’s, McDonald’s, Cold Stone Creamery, Quiznos, Pizza Hut and a Krispy Creme Doughnuts. If you choose not to eat out, room service is offered to you from 6am to 9pm.
The Attractions at the Excalibur give you a wide range of fun things for you and your family to do. Get your game on in the Midway. They have arcades and carnival games for the whole family. If you feel like shopping, just walk on down to the Castle Walk where you can shop til you drop! If you want to spend some time outdoors, you can go golfing as well.
